Sports Association

Here is a list of the international sports associations, each of which functions as an independent governing body of the sport they are responsible for and manages the sport at a worldwide stage, usually establishing rules, promoting the sport to fans and prospective spectators, developing prospective players, as well as organising world or continental championships. In the same way, an international sport association must be recognized to the International Paralympic Committee for its sport to become an official paralympic sport. in the latter case, several Paralympic Sports are overseen by a separate group of the International Paralympic Committee which is as part of the World Para branding, for instance, track and field sports for athletes who are handicapped is controlled by the IPC as a whole, under the designation "World Para Athletics". Other Paralympic sports are governed within the structure of the able-bodied counterpart that is, for instance, the UCI governs both ablebodied and paralympic cycling.
